SEO Books – 10 Best SEO Books

A significant first step is to look for the best SEO books to enter the world of SEO if you want to learn SEO from scratch and become an expert in organic positioning. We will see what SEO is, what the difference is between SEO and SEM, and what are the best books you can read about organic positioning.

The 10 Best SEO Books

Let’s start right away with the list, where I also include some bonus books that, in addition to SEO, can give you the extra touch you need to learn everything.

"/

1. SEO for Dummies

SEO for Dummies is a great book to learn SEO basics and start optimising your website. It describes all you need to know about keywords, titles, links, site structure, and on-page optimisations in a modest way that makes sense if you’re new to this or want to brush up on your knowledge.

You can take a look at the new edition of this book; they have updated it and added some excellent information that I think is worth reading if you start to get serious about SEO.

This book will provide you with everything you need to know for a basic-level optimisation strategy. But don’t expect in-depth information and advanced positioning strategies.

2. SEO 2021

SEO 2021 is a highly acclaimed book by Adam Clarke and is one of my top recommendations.

In this SEO book, you will find:

  • SEO explains in simple language, from beginner to advanced.
  • The inner works of the Google algorithm and how it calculates search results.
  • How to find relevant keywords that direct customers to your website through keyword research.
  • Tricks to become local businesses to rank high thanks to local SEO.
  • How to appear in the most critical digital newspaper for free.

And several other things that are very interesting.

The important thing about this book is that it is continually updated and adds or changes information depending on what is working.

It doesn’t delve deep into SEO tactics and strategies, but it is a perfect kick to understand what works to position yourself in the SERPs.

3. The Ultimate Guide to Link Building

This book is an excellent source for how to do link-building in the most sophisticated way possible. It’s not easy to recite, but it’s worth reading if you want to get serious about SEO or if you already work as an SEO specialist and need to know how Google works. This volume will give you tools and strategies to get links in a white hat way.

It will help you:

  • Execute link-building strategies and competitor analysis correctly.
  • Develop a foundation and long-term plan for link building.
  • Understand the types of backlinks and the best options according to your niche.

4. SEO: The essential keys

This Spanish SEO book is a great read and an excellent introduction to the essentials of SEO and how search engines work. It also includes some great tips on more advanced techniques that you can immediately practice if you already work in this field or know enough about SEO (mainly web development).

It also creates by Aleyda Solis, one of the most influential personalities in the world of SEO.

5. The SEO Blueprint

Created by Ryan Stewart, The SEO Blueprint was one of the SEO books that marked me the most.

This book compiles everything Ryan has learned in the last ten years doing SEO for clients, and it is called a blueprint because it has the steps to follow and what we must do to position ourselves in Google.

  • The type of keywords we should pursue and how to do it
  • How to take advantage of the information of the competitors to position more keywords
  • What types of content to write to generate results
  • How to audit our website
  • Common mistakes to avoid
  • How to structure your website for success

6. The State of Link Building (2021)

It is a free resource that works as a digital book. It is a report on the world of link building updated yearly with the main characteristics of the universe of links. Super recommended for those who want to know about SEO to understand how freelancers and SEO agencies take link building into their strategy.

7. Lost and Founder

One of my favourite books, although it doesn’t just talk about SEO. Rand Fishkin is the creator of Moz, one of the first SEO software that has existed and one of the most important in history.

In this book, Rand reviews everything that has led to Moz being as successful as he was and all the difficulties he has encountered along the way. In this book, you will not learn SEO directly, but you will know the story of someone who sees the importance of positioning a website and building a tool to help other companies do it.

8. Product-Led SEO

When it comes to SEO, success often doesn’t depend on what you do but on how you do it. That’s why Product-Led SEO delves into the logic and theory of SEO rather than offering step-by-step guidelines and techniques. So you will learn how to develop your best practices and see where most SEO strategies go astray.

9. Local SEO Secrets

Local SEO Secrets is another excellent book to learn about search engine optimisation strategies, focusing on local SEO and exploring how Google works with business location data.

It is a convenient guide that will teach you step-by-step what you have to do to get your site ranked locally so that people can find it through organic results or even on Google Maps. If you have an online business but don’t know anything about local SEO marketing. This is undoubtedly one of the books I recommend before learning more advanced things.

10. The Art of SEO

The Art of SEO is another excellent book to learn about the most advanced search engine optimisation strategies. It’s a bit more exclusive than other books, but it has so much information that I think it’s worth expenditure a few bucks on this one because you’ll be able to use all these techniques even after reading only half of the book. However, it is not for beginners! If you’re new to SEO, don’t buy it until you’ve read the more superficial things first. It will be too complicated for your level at the moment.

In addition, this book is not as up-to-date as the others we will see in this list. But it was a fundamental resource for learning SEO at the time (2015).

Conclusion

Before knowing which are the best SEO books that you can start reading today to take your first steps, you have to understand what SEO is. So SEO is a set of techniques and actions to organically position a web page without investing in advertising.
